I was just curious to know how many times you can get an activation key from MS? I used the sticker off my hp to register WinXP MCE on my new comp by phoning MS only once so far.
A friend has done it a few times with XP home I should try as I have a legit version as well just to see home many times I can get away with it .
My problem was I could n't understand the woman on the phone's accent .
They wouldn't even let me do it once. I was quite pissed.
Try to do something the legitimate way, and I'm forced to go download a cracked copy of Corporate.......which worked just fine BTW.

To make a long story short:
I own 2 copies of XP Home.
One is an Upgrade version, the other is an OEM version. Niether is considered a "Full" version.
I needed to re-install XP on the same computer it was currently on, but I lost the product key, so I called the licensing dept. for another one. The dirty bitch on the other end said they don't issue them for that reason, and that I would have to purchase another copy.
I was like WTF?! It's already on the computer, I just need to reinstall!
She started asking me to describe what was on the disc etc, as I guess she thought I was lying or something.
Anyhow, she never gave me a product key and so I just decided to download XP Corp.
Bullshit, eh?

If you already have XP installed and want to reformat, but you've lost the legit key, I found a good page that describes how to transfer the key from the first installation to the re-installation.
I found this after my hard drive went bad. Thankfully I found the Usenet and FST after several years of being away!! It's good to be back!

You simply just have to copy a few files to disk and recopy them back after the re-install.
