I have been trying to re install limewire and keep getting viruses. Has anyone had this problem? It was for limewire basic.

Step 1: boot from a clean antivirus cd, or one of the many available boot cd's and run virus check on your system.
Step 2: don't install limewire. it's a piece of crap.
Post something relevant that adds value, or keep yer trap shut like you was avoidin a sistaboy in prison.
I ran the anti virus and cleaned it out. I should forget limewire i guess.

also, a couple of good rules to follow.
1. never download anything less than 1MB
2. never download pictures
3. never download apps
4. scan EVERYTHING before using it.
If you want to be extra safe, quarantine newly downloaded files for a month, rescan them, and if they pass you can use them.
Another thing to remember. LW makes a lot of temporary files. So after a while your MFT will start to get clogged. Download diskeeper and increase the allocation size on your HD for the MFT.
