you dont really need a good PC to play music...... just a good sound card i recconmend the X FI xtreme music by creative.... its a killer sound card..... or if u play games get the Faltal1ty edition it has XRAM its like memory on a video card but stores sounds while playin ya game therefore increasing performance

i just recently went thru this and yes the sound card did make an improvement, but wasn't as GREAT as ppl say and it really doesn't justify an extra $100 more for what it gives u. i paid $60 for my creative x-fi xtreme music sound card and it's nice. i like it, but if i had paid over $100 for what i got it wouldn't had been worth it. i've seen better frames in "benchmarks", but not in games. my on-board realtek ac'97 was GREAT! it cums w/the mb and if that is what u have then keep it. if u can justify $100+ for an extra improvement then it's worth it. if ur on a budget then on-board is good enough. imo.
