    Do you have a separate sound card?
    Realtek AC'97 isn't a sound card anyway, it's the integrated audio.

    The driver vb1234 gave you should work.

    This is what it says in EVEREST Home Edition about my Sound Device:




    Message after installing what vb1234 told me to.

    I get this error when I click on the SoundMax Icon:


    I get these error messages when I want to play mp3's:

    That's with the driver installed?

    This may not be it but try doube clicking on the sound icon in system tray and choose a sound card on teh dropdown?

    1. Yes thats with the driver installed.

    2. I quite don't understand what you're saying so could please clarify it for me.

    go into teh control panel -> double click sounds and audio devices -> click on advanced under 'device volume' -> click on options>properties -> choose a "mixer device"
