We have had a pretty good printer at my house that has lasted about 4 years but the time has come to get a new one. I'm pretty knowledgeable about computer components, but I am stuck on this issue because I know nothing about printers. Our old printer was a BJC-6000 and I'm unsure to go with either: an inkjet, laserjet, or bubblejet.

The budget is probably limited to less than $300 but I'd like to hear some opinions about the pros and cons of each type of printer and which I should get. I dont really use a printer that often only for schoolwork, but my Mom uses it quite often so the cost of refill cartridges is definately a factor.

Any help on this matter is appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

P.S. I live in Vancouver so its appreciated if you can put the money figures in Canadian $.
Peter: Excuse me, is your refrigerator running?
Because if it is, it probably runs like you - very homosexually.

I see Futureshop has a sale on printers. If in the Surrey area you have many stores to choice from , Business Depot , London Drugs etc. I'v always like HP but the ink is expensive to replace.

if you just use a printer for school work you probably won't need colour, so i suggest a black and white laser printer. Toner is far cheaper than ink cartridges.

i have the Samsung ML-1510, which cost me £50

Print directly from digital camera with PicBridge technology . I like that idea for
