    other option
    put your tv upside down
attach a strong lense at the right distance to a funnel around your tv
and voila you have a projector
    (not a good one but....)

i got a shoe box, stabbed a tiny hole in one end and a tore bit of card off the side. then put a cover over my head and the box, and stood on the landing (dark part of the house cos it's in the middle) and pointed it through my sisters window. i spent a few seconds fiddling with it and all i could see was a white triangle on the back of the box. i moved it and was quite startled when i got slightly blurred but still clear and recognisable picture of the garden

i was doing some research and found out that if u make a projector using OHP (over head projector) the life of the bulb is only 50-100hrs and if u make one using the guide at lumenlabs its 10 000hrs....

    the bulb for OHP=$10
    bulb for lumenlab thingy=$40-50

A real easy way to make a projection TV is to go to you're local jr. college or university, wait until class gets out. When everyone has left the room, take the AV equipment. You've gotta make sure you're dressed in coveralls and if anyone walks in just say you're repairing the equipment. In college we had a savage projector and screen we took from one of the humanities buildings.

I figure for 5,000 dollars a semester I'd better at least be getting something out of the deal.
