I would like to ask one question mainly to all the people who have changed their OS to Xp from another. When installing it, should one do a clean install or a upgrade install. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each install???
Help needed because of my computer going slightly haywire.

You should do a clean install for sure. The reason is due to your drivers. XP is loaded with many drivers. I first did and upgrade, then Norton woudn't work amongst others.

It is very easy for the clean install. Insert the CD, and boot from the CD. Format your drive from FAT to NTFS and install windows, easy.

i agree with mobboss01......do a clean install...but make sure you have all the software to re-install your drivers...also if you have old hardware..make sure their drivers are compliant with xp....

I heard upgrading is a real bit*h! I didn't listin, so I went ahead and did the upgrade, it was a real bit*h!!! So I ended up doin a clean install in the end. Then I hated XP due to every freaking game freezing, then formatted and did a clean install of Windows 2000.
