Road vs Custom

I'm curently riding a dark blue Yamaha XJ600

I own a silver Yamaha XV1100 Virago

My mate has taken my bike to weld up the collector box on the exhaust system, he's very kindly lent me his XJ600 while he does it

OMFG what a difference!!

First thing I noticed when I got on the XJ was how light it is, then the height (my seat height is lower than a c70 moped).
When I pulled away I spent about 20 seconds trying to find the foot pegs

my pegs are forward (being a cruiser) so that was quite a laugh.
The whole feel of the XJ is plasticky and cheap, not solid, it's far too high to throw round corners at high speed, by comparison it's gutless, you wind it open and nothing seems to happen much, when you wind mine open it goes.....

Like I said, I'm very greatful for the lone of his bike, very kind of him, but his bike is a piece of shit

It maybe cos I'm used to an 1100, but a cbr600 has nearly as much torque as mine, people have told me XJ's go like shit off a shovel.......I say.....yeah..sticky shit

So if there's any bikers about, have you ridden an XJ and what did you think........or ridden an XV for that matter.

Yeah, but that's only cause you've squished the suspension under your enormous weight.

Is it a recent model? Cause the xj600s I've seen do not seem as "plasticky" as you say.
They still look like shit, mind you.

@Gep....... Yes they are very stupid, that would be why stupid people buy them, cos they are stupid too

Altho........I will never get stopped by the old bill on my bike (thats a quote from a traffic cop) where as on a blade you'll get pulled twice weekly ..........besides, everyone has a sports bike round here, their uncomfortable and boring.

it's the bike I've always wanted, the only bike I would like more is an Indian 1400 soft tail

@Guil... It's a 97 model, it's not plastic, just does'nt feel solid, you know what I mean?
And yeah, XJ's always did look sorta half way between a commutor and racer, 900 diversions with that stupid cobra faring are ugly mofo's.
