Thread: Dock program.

    how Do I get rid of Windows explorer.exe so I only have the dock and how do I make it so I can use the things I have open like Firefox, or WinAmp?

    How about...

    Start>Run>type: gpedit.msc
    +-User Configuration
    -+-Adminisrative templates
    -+-Desktop>Hide and disable all items on the desktop.

    I don't have that option either, running Windows 2000.

    Strange. In mine it shows:

    Requirements:
    At least Microsoft Windows 2000
    
    Removes icons, shortcuts, and other default and user-defined items from the desktop, including Briefcase, Recycle Bin, My Computer, and My Network Places.
    
    Removing icons and shortcuts does not prevent the user from using another method to start the programs or opening the items they represent.

    Whoops didn't even see this post, found it, and enabled it. Refreshing the desktop still didn't make the icons go away, so let me try rebooting...

    It does look crisp and clean, most of my wallpaper is family pic's I'll have to try .
