Damn dude you ask about a non-college class and everyone (in the UK it seems) jumps all over you saying you ain't shit.

    That's just not right.

You should do fine. I imagine it's little harder if you haven't been working around computers alot.

I didn't have alot of trouble. Good luck.

The A+ cert It is an well respected certification awarded by CompTIA,
showing competency in troubleshooting and configuring software and
    hardware.

It is not an easy test by any means. You're tested on everything from
DOS commands, to COM port IRQs and multimeter readings. Some of the
questions are ambiguous, (done on purpose) with craftily worded choices
    that sound correct.

Some questions use double negatives, such as...Which of the following
files is not unnecessary during the boot process? It's easy to miss the
double negative, when in a rush to finish the test in the allotted time.

They also ask many questions that are worded with great precision.
(SO READ EVERY WORD IN THE QUESTION)

Example: Windows 95 and 98 require the WIN.INI and the SYSTEM.INI files
during the startup process to load device drivers and user options.

    True or False?

The correct answer is false, because the WIN.INI file isn't required.
Windows creates a WIN.INI file if one is not found, but because the
file can be created on the fly, the file is not required. Neither does
32-bit Windows use the WIN.INI file in the same way as 16-bit
Windows. See how easy it is to skip past "require in the question.

    I am now A+ certified...after two attempts.
I smoked a big fatty right before the first test.

    Good luck, lad!

    Peace bd
