eror message

hi hope i can get help, when i try to play a vid i have downloaded, i get a message "runtime error", have tried everything to correct but not working, i run winxp...HELP

what kind of videofile? (.mov/.mpg/.avi)
do you have codecs installed?
which videoplayer do you use?

have klcodec bundle installed and most players, ie real, win, crystal, divx

thnks heaps, am downloading..can you tell me why i started getting that problem until today i could play vids with no problems..
