    Dude guys ok here is the reason I don't want an O/s in the omputer because I have sold one of my computers and I don't want an o/s in it can I get any clearer and for those that have helped I thank you. Others that didn't well...

    Cant you use dos prompt and type C:\Reformat?

    Reformat isn't a DOS command.


    Back to the topic... For a sold PC, remove any partitions and leave it as RAW. You can use the Windows XP CD to do this.

    Alright can you please explain how to do it on the cd? It was installed with windows xp professional. But I don't see the option to clear anything. What does it say?

    You have to boot the CD and just before the installation you have options to create partitions, delete partitions, format etc.

    if you want the disk completly wiped get a boot floppy and type format into the dos prompt

    or with the XP CD... boot with the CD and when it asks where you want to install it will give you the option to format the HDD select yes, job done
