Hey, I'm starting to price a box for a guy I work with, need help pricing and with parts.

He's looking for an econo-box, mostly web surfing and very light gaming, so no graphics card necesarry, can be handled with onboard. Onboard sound too, not sure if a gig or ram is necesary, but he needs a keyboard, mouse, and a box for around 400 - 500$, mostly on the lighter side, so help. please.

Mainly I just need help at this point making decisions on wether or not to have a graphics card, economically, and how much ram is needed that sort of stuff, then I'll start putting it together on newegg and come back, 64-bit or not, etc.

Does your customer care at all about future upgradability or is this box disposable in two years?
Is the cost of the OS (presumably XP) included in the $500?

Well, he's in america now, but he lives in trinidad, he basically wants something for kid games, for his daughter, email that shit, I don't care if its gets crappy in 2 years, and AMD is prefered over intel.

This is absolutely the cheapest "modern" pc i'm seen, but hey at least its 3 ghz despite its celeron. I think 3 ghz will more than suffice for web surfing and light gaming.

Those are Barebone kits. They aren't complete computers.
