You need to
1. Lift heavy.
2. Eat more protein, especially before and after you work out.
3. Get plenty of rest.
4. Drink plenty of water.
Muscle weighs more than fat but it takes longer to get muscle. You'll see strength gains and noticable differences very fast with heavier weights.
People can't tell I weigh 190 'cause I'm not fat.
Start with low weight in each exercise to get proper form down and then move up.
Make sure you don't have a medical condition which precludes you from lifting heavy weights.
Save time by doing super sets.
If you are doing a bicep curl, you can do a tricep kickback IMMEDIATELY after.
The same goes for leg curls and leg extensions.
Isolate your muscle properly.
Do arms and legs one day, chest and back another, and abs EVERYDAY.
