The BitComet torrent client will no longer be permitted on SceneTorrents.

    probably because of the DHT.

B careful you can get your accounts closed.

    Azureus doesn't use DHT network?

What is MT.(could it be midnight torrents?)

DHT network is a network that Bitcoment is connected to which allows it to find more peers to connect with the cliend and help you out with your download..
At least this is what i know... i could be wrong...

Almost right. The problem is that it also allows people to connect to you and download from you without being a member of the tracker site.

I'm told DHT is blocked simply by marking the torrent in the right way (private flag?), but some sites aren't convinced so they are going down the same old banning route that the better sites used before the problem was resolved.

As Delorean implies Azureus uses DHT too, except that it is a version which is not compatible with other torrent clients. I believe utorrent uses the standard DHT, how come that isn't banned? Ignorance by the people who run those sites?

u could not always disable e DHT thing rite by e torrent itself, coz in bitcomet there is a workaround...
pple look in e options, so I'm not suprised at all, that they banned BitComet just wondering what took them so long??

BTW i've been using BitComet for quite a long time its a gr8 client!

Found out that BC is being banned because it does not always honour the private flag, if you select the option "Add DHT as backup tracker".

Pisexy is banning it too so it looks like I'll have to find another client. Utorrent isn't banned AFAIK and it looks quite good so I'll give that a try.
