You need at least 264 mb of ram to run XP.
Nope, I have a Intel Pentium 4 2.0GHz with 256MB RAM. I have the legitimate version of XP Home and it runs great!

dang.. that's so close to what my error code was. This is it...
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I've tried everything on his computer. System Restore fixed my problem... but it won't take on his comp. You might try doing if a sys restore if you haven't already. I tried disabling the BIOS memory shadowing but i didn't really find an option that would do it, just an option to disable Quck Boot or something like that, which i'm assuming is close to the same thing. Either way, it still didn't work.. i might have to resort to doing an XP repair using the install discs. If anybody else has some advice, please let me know before i wipe the hole harddrive.

go talk to MS tech support.. i had a problem awhile back with my computer doing this... it was probably for a different reason than yours, but they were able to take that error, and figure out what could be causing it

I have the same problem ragzinc but only whilst playing
games.
Xp pro
512 ram
1.4 Athlon.
I have been informed by some Technical folk
that the error is due to the power supply.
Not enough watts ?
Sounds daft I know but I have done alot of research
and seems we are not alone with this problem.

Complete wipe may be your only choice...
I used to get a error that looked like this:
F:WINWORD.EXE-Application Error
The instruction at "ox6061fdc3" refrenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory
could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate the program
Click CANCEL to de bug the problem
I tried everything, but I could not fix it.
I moved everything of any value to my d: drive and completely erased c: .
It worked. I re installed windows, and have never seen the error since.
Good luck!
