Thread: Wonder Popup

  1. #1
    Does anyone know how to get this wonder popup "www.wonderpopup.com" shit off of a computer? I'm not going to "www.blockmessenger.com" and paying them shit. I know the two companies gotta be connected, I think they're working together. I know this has got to be one of the greatest scams. I don't know how this shit ever just got on my computer it just popped up one day, and non of the VirusScan software programs will detect it. I just want to know does anyone else have this problem, or has had this problem before?

    Thanx for the help, but somehow all my "Adminstrative Tools" have disappear and I don't know how to get them back. This sucks my computer has had so many viruses this last month. I'm about to stop letting family and friends use my computer from now on. This is ridiculous I only had two viruses through-out the years of having computers, and in only one month I done had almost every popular virus.

    Another really simple and very good idea to do is to DL at least one of the many Spyware/Adware removal tools... my fave's are Adaware, Spybot S&D, and PestPatrol. Look through the verifieds section for these and/or visit thier respective websites.

    Ummmmm..... have you tried going through your registry and looking for anything that might be related to these sites or this software? Check your processes to see if they show up there when one of those windows is up?

    Do you have a firewall installed?? I did a google search and it sounds like these popup messages can be prevented with a proper firewall installed.. or by turning off your MSN messenger (duh&#33. I think it doesn't show up on virus/spyware scans because there's actually nothing installed onto your computer that is creating these popups. Apparently, somebody or something sends out popup messages to any open and unprotected messenger account by scanning the internet for IP addresses. I'd try installing ZoneAlarm PRO if you don't already have it. There's a site that will test if your vulnerable or not and i passed it. Not sure if this is helping me or not, but i also have a router installed.

    Goodluck!

    Try to find oot the ip of the popup's & block them with your firewall. Also try adding the popup's URL to your hosts file, not sure if that would work?. I never seem to get problems with popup's, just when i visit the porn sites & when i do i click on Popup-Stopper first.

    Are they those gray ones? Update your anti-virus protection, maybe boot up in safe mode so you know you have full admin rights. Then:

    Windows 2000

    Click Start-> Programs-> Administrative Tools->Services
    Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
    Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
    Click the STOP button.
    Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
    Click OK.

    Windows XP

    Click Start->Control Panel
    Click Performance and Maintenance
    Click Administrative Tools
    Double click Services
    Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
    Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
    Click the STOP button.
    Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
    Click OK

    Windows NT

    Click Start ->Control Panel
    Double Click Administrative Tools
    Select Services-> Double-click on Messenger
    In the Messenger Properties window, select Stop,
    Then choose Disable as the Startup Type
    Click OK
    things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
    the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
    and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
    the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
    and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
    the germans are like "wtf, h4x"
