Why would I consider him a genius? When I said that I don't " watch the show" was that too vague, at all?

    I've never watched the show.

What a ridiculous statement, I was talking about the principles of comedy.

The Sesame Street part caught me way off guard. Funny as hell!

The Bill Lumberg (cameo?) reference was hysterical too.

Family Guy does seem to reference back too often, I kind of roll my eyes at times. The Sesame Street gag was certainly one of those moments. I still laugh at the show mind, and find it funnier than the stale-as-hell Simpsons. The only reference I didn't get from this weekend's show was "The View" (?). Which was referenced on American Dad as well.

I'd say Seth MacFarlane is a genius in the sense that he has found something that works and he'll keep using it. There is also a certain amount of genius in the fact that he (they really) don't even have to try very hard to write an episode either.

Anyone got a copy of "How To Write Cartoons by Seth McFarlane"?*

*Oh, I ended with my own pop culture reference.

south park -> American Dad -> Family Guy

south parks just as funny as it's ever been imo, the last ep "Bloody Mary" was brilliant

Also really like King Of The Hill because it doesn't have to rely on extreme situations to be funny

I'm loosing intrested in South Park. American Dad is growing on me, I hated it to begin with. Family Guy is always great. I feel the same about King of the Hill. The Simpsons was gay, but this season has been great.

Yeah but you think poetry is not pish, so your opinion re what constitutes genius is about as valid as an American's.

Using your argument The Sun is a work of genius, it works so they keep doing it. Oh and they don't have to try very hard to write it.
