    Hi,
I'm somewhat a newbie when it comes to the internet. Does anyone know how I can take a screenshot of my web browser or computer hard drive and make a good jpg photo of it? Any tips or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

alt + Prt Scr (or the button marked "sys rq")

Then open up a graphics program (or MS Paint ) and paste the contents of the clipboard into a new image.

I don't think the Alt key is necessary. I just hit PrtScr and then open Photoshop, new document, paste.

Alt key is necessary only if you want to copy only the active window. With PrtScr you get the whole screen including the task bar etc...

If you need to take a large number of screenshots before dumping them, you can download a program such as IrfanView, which allows you to set a hotkey and then will capture and save the images as you go.

That is an excellent all around utility. Extremely versatile. I've been using it for years.
