    Hi,

I just installed a striped down version of WinXP Pro which is suppose to make your system run fast.

Well it did seems pretty fast to me, but I got one problem....

When I'm downloading from Newsleecher the computer seems laggy to me(Not internet). The mouse moment lags...If I'm extracting something from winrar, it takes forever to extract.....

I have around 720MB RAM and there aren't lot of programs running which could effect the speed.....Infact nothing is running accept NOD32 antivirus...so I don't understand.

It seems like whenever newsleecher or winrar are running the computer starts to act laggy....but I never had this problem with the OS i had before (Winxp Pro). Its after installing this scene release of Winxp Pro...

How can i fix this? Please advice.

You haven't specified which "scene release" it is.

Reinstall with the full version and test?

See how much processor newsleecher is using up in task manager.
    Mine uses 0-2%.

are you opening large files in winRAR? If so, it does take awhile to open them/extract them.

Make your own XP with nLite. It's easy. I did. That proves it's easy.

Its Windows Mini XP Unattended by eXPerience.

Mine uses like around 20-27 and same with winrar. How can i change this so that it doesn't use more than 2-3?

No matter what file i open.....10MB 100MB 2 GIG....they all take forever. I mean i tried to extract a 25MB file, that took 35 mins...now thats something unusual. I never had this problem before, its after installing the scene relese.

I'd say it's this version of XP you're using. I read the release notes and it has a lot of things missing from it that may be needed to make XP run the way you're used to.

I'd stick with the regular version and maybe tweak it to get rid of the things you don't need/use.

I think you are right.....good thing I installed this OS on a seprate hard disk....I still have the good old XP Pro on my other hard disk.

I'll check and see if that solves the problem by using the old Winxp Pro..
