Hi, i am wondering whether I can upgrade my celeron processor to a pentium 4, my pc is a hp pavilion a808.uk, and i got it may last year so could i put in a 428 pin p4 3.2 or 3.4 ghz processor in it i know that the processor has to be 478 pins, so could i do it thanks very much.

Generally yes but you should find out what chipset the motherboard has to insure compatibility with a new processor like fsb and core.
You can try using cpu-z and click on the motherboard tab to see or use everest to find out the chipset.
One you find out you can google it or post it here and see what the highest fsb and if it supports prescotts or northwoods, then buy accordingly.

you might want to get a northwood processor with 533 fsb

Thanks very much for your help now I am lloking for the cheapest place to buy the processor prefrably in the UK thanks.
