Thread: Playback Beggins to Stutter...

  1. #1
    Hi,

    Ok, heres the problem....

I've been using the K-Lite codec pack for quite some time now.

Around sometime last year (When Pirates of the Caribbean was in Cinemas) I upgraded my codec pack...

However, ever since this time playing back any video plays perfectly fine for a length of time and then starts to stutter after some time...

I've tried Uninstalling / Re-installing, going back to the previous version of the pack (at the time) which did not help...

Have had this problem ever since....

When it starts to stutter I just stop playback, drag it back to where I got up to and hit play and all is fine again...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance...

Hi, I'm currently using Megae v1.48

However, this problem occured ages ago and has not gone away since...

regardless of what version of the k-lite codec pack I install....

The funny thing is one of my movies wich used to play perfectly now hassa load of crap that keeps appearing from the bottom... (the pixels join up to be coloured blocks...)

I also tried using diff codec packs but got the same problem on that vid so may be there is something else causing some sort of conflict?

You can try to uninstall ALL codecs and play your video files with Videolan.

That stutter also occurs when some slower PC's are under too much strain while you are watching.
Make sure to turn off all background apps, and make sure Diskeeper doesn't run while you're trying to watch.

I've got a P4 3.06GHz with HT enabled 512 RD RAM etc etc

Don't think that's the problem seeing as it started occuring after updating to a newer version of the k-lite codec pack some time ago... never had the problem before with updates...

will try to see what happens with VLAN...

I've noticed that the stutter occurs after arond 40 odd minutes of play :S
