This PC, on the other hand, is a private sale. The seller can decide what he wants for it and try to sell it. If the buyer is willing to pay what he wants then that's what it's worth.

Keep in mind that as a retail store we're obligated to provide some sort of warranty (ours is 90 days) and after-sales support.
Typically, my experience is that the older, cheap PCs require waaay more of our time than the profit justifies.

People who can't/won't spend the dosh to acquire a decent machine still expect them to do everything that a more expensive PC will (after all, a "computer is a computer", right?) and harrass us to death trying to flog a Win 98 machine into performing like a real 'puter.

lol...talking about old comps, I'm at a friend's house and wow, did he get ripped off badly...

He bought a pIII 800mhz, 128mb ram, and some sis 4mb video card, for $499 CAD. Bull. I told him he got ripped off, and these are his exact word, "I got ripped off? But it's an IBM machine!" ...I couldnt say much after that

He has like 48 processes running, and 20 of them are like useless. I ran Spybot on the comp, and over 300 spyware entries were found
