Leave your client open until your ratio is above 1.0 and be patient.

Also leave it running when you're not downloading so you can build your ratio up.

Porno. Leave a popular porno running overnight. Wake up in the morning with like a 6:1 on a 2gb movie.

Seeding LOST and Family Guy are good things also.

also try downloading large torrents (dvd's work well) early. is 128 your max up? i know that i don't ever get above 60, and it seems to work fine.

hrm, I leave completed torrents running all the time, usually for about a week but I have mutiple comps. if you really want to improve your ratio and your not an official uploader, jump on torrents a.s.a.p. help seed when you know you aren't going to be using your comp. remember to pump your ratio when you first join a private site. its easier to raise your ratio. you can cheat a little too. if your seeding on a private tracker and you see something you want on that private site look for it on a public site first to protect you ratio.

our internet recently changed to something called broadband2 its heaps faster can dl at 400kb/s etc. but we now have a limit of 20gig per month and it sucksssssss.. we used to have 512kbs broadband unlimited
so ... i was wondering if uploading affects my download quota? would that mean i have to dl only 10gigs and get the 10gigs uploaded and there goes my 20gig quota? i hope not >.<

If your limit of 20gb per month is "bandwidth" then yes you're stuffed cos it's 10 up 10 down.

My advice is get a new isp.

I keep the torrents active all the time. Even when I limited my upload to 5 KB/s the ratio remained very close to 1 as it uploaded continuously and after a couple of days I have ratio of 2 or more. Then I turn off the torrent if I need to or I turn it off if I am uploading at only 1-2kb/s.
