Why can the raptor only go upto like 74 GB's.
Whats the difference between like SATA and IDE or whatever there is.
Do they have different connection wires?

SATA does use different power AND data cables.Originally Posted by twisterX
SATA (both 1 & 2) has a faster transfer bus than IDE.

how would you be able to put a sata drive in a computer that has IDE?
do u need to change the wires or need a whole new mobo.
Many (if not most) new motherboards support SATA but if you have an older board you could add a PCI SATA host card.
