Thread: External TV card for laptop

  1. #1
    Hi
I am thinking of buying an external TV card for my laptop. I want to buy the TV card for the following reasons:

1 - Connect my VCR to the laptop to convert my old VHS movies
2 - Watch TV (perhaps, free-to-air digital TV)

    Any recommendations, please???

    thanks

    Still no answer.

    Let me put it differently:

What external device can I use to connect a VCR to my laptop, so that I can capture a movie on my laptop???

    thanks

I don't think there is a TV-card for labtops but they do have usb devices that will do the trick.

There are pcmcia TV cards: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...G=Search&meta=

I've never directly dealt with them so I don't have any make or model recommendation.

You can buy a basic usb hauppage tv card which has svideo connection. Although picture quality wont be brillant but for basic use its ok.
