I have ie7, but Im not sure what png transparency is really...yes, Im an idiot when it comes to graphics and things like that. do you have an example of something I could look at or something
This is a png file with a transparant bazckground.
In Firefox you'll only see the globe with the background color of the forum.
In IE6 you'll notice that it has a blue-ish background color,ruining the whole picture.
So if you could check that would be great.

or better check it on this link cause i just noticed it does show up fine in IE6 here on the board.

yea, all i see is the orb, no background other than the forum color, so I guess ie7 does what your looking for
oh, and dont forget to set a restore point before installing ie7, just in case

i saw your edit now, sorry aboot that, the orb looks fine there as well, all i see is the thin black border around the whole image, but the background looks white
