    To like try it out.

I have this other HDD and even though its the slave and everything could i install linux on it. And will it erase the main HDD with 2 partions.

IT has around 20 gigs so it should be enough.

    I was thinking about Fedora.

Disconnect your current Windows drive and connect the 20 gig drive as a Master. You can install any Linux you like without fear of upsetting your Windows setup. When done, just disconnect the Linux drive and plug in the Windows drive and you're back to what you had.

    Try Suse.

why not plug both in and dual boot so you can have windows and linux.

k/ubuntu and suse are both worth a look.

Ubuntu: http://www.ubuntu.com/download --- There's even a live CD version that can run without installing.

    Fedora: http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html

    Suse: http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=2
