As much as I've always enjoyed watching curling (I was even dimly aware the Scots originated the game), my interest this time around was a bit deeper, and not just because the Americans had teams competing, because, embarrassingly, I didn't know that.
I won't make that mistake again, and I'll be paying more attention from now on.
I've told the missus I want an official Team USA Curling jacket so I can go to Bemidji, Minnesota, eat a pizza at Fenson's pizza joint, and get Pete to sign it.
I really appreciated his demeanor and sportsmanship during the competition; he honored the sport while having what seemed a really good time of it.
He did us proud.
I look forward to supporting the U.S. Hopscotch Team, too.
