Best final fantasy?

what is the best ff? i don't want to play the early ones for snes. just the ps and ps2 games.

i can get ff 7,8 x and x-2. i have 8 on pc right now.

what is ff IX? how come it's not as popular as the others?

i'm playing a bit of ff8 on pc. it looks really really shitty. all the backgrounds are like crappy static backgrounds. i guess it's pretty good for the ps, but it looks so bad


i played a little ffx @ my friends place. it's so weird. i'm more used to kotor and guild wars. real time rpg.

FF 7 and 8 as far as i know are the best..

I preffer 8.

Also in 9 you can disable the waitng thing so that the monster will attack you as soon as its ready no matter if you are trying to find an item in the middle of the fight or even if you hesitaded to attack..
The same think with you.. your characters will strike as soon as they are ready. if they are faster than the monster they might manage to strike twice!
I have enjoyed paying them all up to 9.
I want to borrow a ps2 just to play FFX and FFX-2 rom a friend of mine!

Its not all about looks ya know, ff8 has a gr8 story and gameplay.

ffi = started genre, but great classic
ffii = same as i, but u can cheat with the gameplay (repetitive)
ffiii = still, early ff. same as first ii. (only japanese)(rom)
ffiv = great new ff style. good story, great gameplay. NEW us ver is set to hard mode.
ffv = ff tactics gameplay. FUN!
ffvi = BEST FF to date!!!
ffvii = great new cg grafx to turn on no0bs. great game none-the-less. excellent story!
ffviii = ok story, gay gameplay. get ready to steal a lot
ffix = old school approach. knights, dragons, wizards. ahhh... worked 4 me.
ffx = fun game! great grafx, fast gameplay. interesting story!
ffx-2 = FASTER gameplay! = AWESOME gameplay! story is meh...
ffonline = slow, boring, time consuming
ffxii = to be continued...

FF just sucks ass too me. I bought the FF for PS1 awhile back and I was hyped (like everyone else) but ended up bored to tears.

The FF games have great cinemas but I want to play a game for the gameplay, not watch a movie.
