Fuck off, I only give respect to those that demonstrate to me that they've earned it. I don't go around randomly dishing out respect to idiots. This holds true on both the interweb and irl.

If an established member is a dick, I'm less likely to pull him or her up on it if I respect that member, if I don't - it's practically a given that I will.

Being an administrator or a moderator also doesn't automatically earn respect. However, the two things aren't mutually exclusive as some mods may or not believe. I have virtually no respect for some mods, I have oodles of it for others.

Putting a member on moderation because they were disrespectful will not make the member be respectful to people who don't deserve it (in their opinion), it will only serve to make them more likely to post elsewhere.

Skiz probably is mixing up respect with politeness. I have to agree that respect is earned. However, I think with many on here, contempt is automatic.

Skiz may have demonstrated to be blank sometimes but I can't say that has he earned my contempt either...even though he's Republican.
