Downloading, then installing games...

I just downloaded a new game from a bit torrent site and I'm having problems getting it to work. Installation is fine, but when I try to play it says I need to insert the disc. I know this may be a stupid question, but do i really need the disc, or am I just not doing something correctly. Please reply if you know what to do!!

It would help if you told us the release you downloaded.

As a bit of generic advice, look on the disc and see if there is a crack folder. In here is a game executable (fear.exe or whatever). You need to copy this file into the installation directory (C:\Program Files/FEAR etc.), overwriting the old fear.exe.
