It's relation to Orwell is as close as Bush and Lewinsky. It is 2006 hence by now people repetitivly copy genius. The Orwellian ending is more realistic.Originally Posted by imm102

a friend of mine told me today that I should watch this. I looked on IMDB and it scored 8.4, which is only .3 behind the Usual suspects, so it's gotta be at least somewhat good. downloding it now, can't wait to watch it.

Jeebus, don't people ever read comics...it's based on a comic called "V for Vendetta", which in turn seems somewhat inspired by several dystopian works, such as 1984, which btw, was not the first dystopia to appear in literature.
And as far as the movie goes, I don't hate it, but I think they messed up Evey's character some, and the ending even more. Not entirely happy about "V" either.
