There's an interesting paralell.. I had a similar problem. It wasn't with a dvd player, but I changed video cards, and when I watch movies in anything EXCEPT Kazaa PP, they're upside down, it's really weird, and I haven't found a cure for it yet. So so far, Equilibrium (xvid rulez) is upside down . I can't figure out what's wrong, but it's definately with processing and/or memory problems / memory management. One thing that might help you is - try to encode it in a different resolution and see if you have the same problem. I changed the resolution on my monitor, I think that might be the problem with mine, but I still dont' understand why it would do this with a different resoution. For all I know, it could be your processor messing you up, since I changed a VID processor (the vid card actually) and the image worked weird. I hope this helps someone.
Ps. Don't flame me, I'm just a messenger, and yes, I did read everything right.
