  1. #11
I restarted uTorrent and the Listen Error has returned.
I also disabled the firewall and then tried still no change.

Forgot to mention that, thanks for pointing it out

Timpak, what version of uTorrent do you have?

    I had v1.4.
Downloaded v1.5 and tried same results.
Do you know where are the setting are saved as the settings in v1.4 reflected in v1.5.
Are they saved in the registry?

If not anywhere else, probably the registry. So let's see... you've disabled firewalls, forwarded ports, looked over preferences... I have no idea. Windows built it firewall turned on or off?

Does utorrent require a fixed ip, the ip is assigned dynamically by my ISP (Comcast)

there is an option in your router to turn off DHCP and after which you can enter the IP address of your computer manually which different from your WAN ip which is dynamic. After which you can forward your ports to this address.

This may sound silly but I had a problem with downloading files after I installed PG2...turning it off didn't help so I uninstalled then reinstalled my BT cilent and all was good

    Atlast got utorrent to work.
    The culprit was Zonealram..
I was using Zonealram sometime before but later uninstalled and started using Tiny firewall.
Zonealram has an issue that it does not uninstall completely and needs manual deletion on some files to get rid of it completely otherwise it will keep blocking internet access.
To unistall manually use the steps on the below link.

    Thanks everybody for your help.
    Happy Sharing...
