I was using it, and its faster to sort through your library and all that blah.

I have it on right now on my taskbar, currently is using 15,144 K mem with about 0-5 CPU. I dunno it seems to run my computer a little slower when multitasking, but I just lowered its priority.

Pirate friendly versions do seem to be appearing via P2P networks though but you may have to sift through to find a working one (and do a bit of digging to find out what's been done to neatralise them I guess).

Never had a problem myself since Devils Own , but I do seem to read a lot !

Windows Media Player 11 Beta Officially Released

The first Windows Media Player 11 Beta was released on Microsoft's site today. The new version carries a new user interface, better interconnectivity with portable devices and handhelds, and comes bundled with the URGE music purchase system from MTV. If you don't happen to like URGE, you can choose to not have a store at all, or you can choose one of the following after loading the list from Microsoft:
    • Audible
    • FYE
    • Live365
    • Movielink
    • MSN Music

etc. Full list on Microsoft's Windows Media Player 11 page (Click View)
This release is not secured by Windows Genuine Advantage, but that shouldn't matter, seeing as to how you guys are all legal Windows XP users.
This release is only supported on Windows XP, and specifically SP2.

    OH.......MY......GOD!!

Did you read the "URGE" licensing agreement that comes with this thing!?

Well I did, and my eyes just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Then I took a few deep breaths and deleted WMP11

    No.......THANK.....You. EVER!

(And people think this Government phone thing is bad.......wait till they see this!)

All the things happening all around, and I feel like I am watching my country slowly become a police state. I have ALWAYs been the earliest of early adaptors, (first walkman, first portable cd players, first portable lcd tvs etc) but 99% of this new technology/spyware Leaves me cold.

Completely, totally, entirely and even angrily uninterested. I will NOT be buying it, unless someone finds a way to turn it off

    1. The Gov't phone thing is scarey and so is all the monitoring. I agree. 2. URGE sucks, the agreement is shyt. I agree. Good find, too bad it wasn't good news though...I'm still keepin' my WMP 11 and I've always declined URGE and all agreements. I don't need a music store. ........ .......

Wow. I have legit Windows XP Media Center Edition, and WMP11 can't install because I don't have rollup 2 installed......
but for some crappy reason, rollup 2 cant be installed onto my computer.
Apparently it has to do with how they installed the OTHER updates... AUTOMATICALLY. Sigh, microsoft.
