Yes, ubuntu installs a boot loader (usually grub or lilo.. i prefer grub). Find a guide and it should be really easy.

It uses Grub. It was really easy to setup after following the tutorial that I posted. The hard part is using the OS, lol.

you only really need to use clamav if your running a mail server for windows machines which i doubt. iptables are pretty useful if you want to build some firewall rules guide
