I wouldn't say it is the best TV series I have ever watched but I have recently got into Nip/Tuck. I wasn't sure I was going to like it because initially I thought it was weird and perverse but it has grown on me.
I am halfway through the second series and I am starting to enjoy it a lot more. I really like the Shawn Mcnamara character even though he has went off the rails a bit in the last few episodes I have watched (he has had relations with a sex doll!) so I am interested to see how his character develops.
Side note: I don't know how obvious this is but it seems like there is a small pool of minor character actors that appear in all the major US TV shows. In Nip/Tuck I have spotted Claire's dad out of Heroes and the women Desmond buys the ring off in Lost. I have noticed this in other TV shows as well, but I can't be bothered to list them all.

ooh this is an extremely tough call, I mean you have the classics like the 'joy of paint with bob ross' and now you have these high budget pseudo movies turned into a series like heroes and lost.
but when it comes down to it the best tv series i've ever seen is definitely Battlestar Galactica.
