It’s at a linux forum i sometimes post at (which I’d prefer to remain a super secret).
There’s this guy from a place called "New York".
He started a thread protesting that nothing irritated him more than when people pronounce linux as lin-ux instead of lie-nux, as it is, according to him, incorrect . So I linked him to Linus Torvalds interweb famous sound recording for proper pronunciation as he is wrong and he'd still not have any of it
I'd even be willing to go along with it and let him have his pronunciation as a majority used way of saying it (as I know a few people who do the same) if he'd have spelt it in the phonetic way of "lynux" or even "lynuks" but still he'd have none of it, according to him its spelt linux and pronounced lye-nux. Got three guys agreeing with me (one from merica, one from the UK and one from Spain) and one guy disagreeing who is from Wisconsin
Far be it for me to correct anyone on grammar or punctuation, but I do so hate it when bitchez fail to recognize
