    Yes and also you have to configure your firewall (as i presume you have one) to allow the traffic in the TCP and UDP ports you choosed in emule.

    Norton & mcafee is the worst u can have. They block some sharing programs completely.

    I have the same problem but I don't have firewall or router. I use an ethernet switch and I was told that I can't configure it. That was perfect for installing my lan but when I tried sharing softwares no one work. What could I do?

    If u got win xp u got a firewall. U need to allow your program in your firewall or windows firewall, thats all. To share mans that people download from u and basicly it doesn't even matter if u got a firewall or not. p2p means everybody's IP is visible. U can be safe only if u don't share lol and if u can browse on interent it sure is a firewall problem.
