Putting together a new pc for a friend and just installed the cpu, got a tube of grease with the heatsink but unknown to me it's twice as thin as the stuff I normally use, so being heavy handed I squirted an inch long stream of thermal paste over the mobo
Nice little cleanup job I have now.

    Mine.

I broke the power pin so, whilst it actually still works, I can't recharge the battery. I am still under warranty so I'm hoping they won't notice that it was my fault it broke because otherwise it's going to cost me around £100 to get it fixed. £100 I had earmarked to buy me a new monitor that I broke last week...

Balance it precariously on the edge of a desk or something in CrabGirl's (your) bedroom and hope she knocks it over so you can blame her.

    Hey, it's worked before

Ouch, Just tell them it came like that and you never noticed

While we're on the subject, does anyone have a link or know the Bios settings for an AMD Athlon 64 3300?
I've looked all over AMD's site and google and can't find default settings.
I think it should be 1.575v which it is set on, I'm just a little concerned as first time I booted it the temp went upto 78C, so I stripped it and reapplied some decent thermal paste, now it's stable at 55/57C which is ok but seems a little high while idling in bios.

I'm gonna go ahead and load the os but meanwhile if anyone could answer my question it would be much appreciated

    Hey, it's worked before
Funnily enough, this morning as I leant over to kiss Crabgirl goodbye on my way to work (she was still in bed...) my laptop slipped from my shoulder bag and cracked her on her pelvic bone.
