I noticed that the mobo has 2 x16 PCI Express slots

However, it says that crossfire will run in dual x8 mode.

I am clearly misunderstanding something because wouldn't 2 x16 slots and no x8 slots mean the cards will run at dual x16?

p5w-dh will run crossfire at X8.

Article about the ATI Crossfire™ Xpress 3200 chipset that lets you run dual 16x: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ATI/RD580Preview

Look for motherboard with that chipset if that's what you're looking for.
