Jeeze, thats sad I didn't even know about that plane crash until reading it here. I've just done a quick search on google:

On 6th February 1958, the plane carrying the Manchester United football team, crashed on takeoff on a snow covered runway at Munich Airport, West Germany. Seven members of the team died in the crash, and an eighth (Duncan Edwards) was to die later from serious injuries. Eight accompanying journalists and three club officials also perished in the crash. United were returning from a match with Red Star Belgrade after a 3-3 draw, which had earned them a place in the European Cup semi-finals. Matt Busby, the manager, along with Bobby Charlton and defender Bill Foulkes had survived the crash. But it was to take another 10 years before Busby (and Manchester United) could replace his "Babes" with a winning team, and recover from the tragedy. Illustrated (above right) is the "Munich Clock" which displays, above the entrance to Old Trafford, the date and time of the tragedy - the clock stopped permanently at that hour as a mark of respect and a perpetual memorial to those who perished.

I'm glad ppl disapprove about soopaman's Munich comments

Football's one thing, but death (to anyone) is quite another

Don't care who you support/dislike etc etc nobody deserves to die imho.

    Bronco,

Congrats, the londoners have blown it. Simply didn't have the heart for the fight.

Couldn't dig in when really needed.

References to tragedies are a disgrace. The posters should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm not even going to quote "soopamans" comments as they are an insult!

but soopaman, I think every decent minded football fan on this forum deserves an apology, you are a disgrace!

With reference to the Munich thing:

At least supporters of my team don't chant songs mocking the deaths of 66 Rangers supporters in the 1971 tragedy or pro-IRA songs - Celtic fans.

    Or Loyalist songs - Rangers.

Or mocking the Heyssel disaster - Torino fans.

It doesn't matter to me, all football fans like to taunt the opposition. Even if it's a bit sick. If it gets under the opposition supporters skin then it's a job well done!! It's not just about singing when you're winning.

And it'd be the only way my team'll EVER win anything.

If I offended any genuine Football fans I can only apologise.
