all I can say is there is an alumb called "TOTO IV" and the artist is toto it has that song Africa as the last track thats all i know Im probaly not much help

It was a sampler tape, you know, 12 songs, each from a different artist.

The song is country-ish, sung by a male.

It is not "Leaving on a Jet plane".
Wichita Lineman - Glen Campbell?????

It's a shot in the dark. [/b][/quote]
Good guess, but wrong song. I think it will be similar to this song. A somewhat mournful tune, little country twang.
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?

Try this

Jim Capaldi - Living On The Edge. Jim Capaldi

You know I've had my share of dealing with despair.
I'm tired of seeing my dreams vanish in the air.
Enough of users and all them two time losers.
I've seen that killing floor and I just won't take no more.

So I'm gonna move out on the highway.
Head on down the road leaving it all behind.
Had enough of lying. There'll be no more crying this time.
Living on the edge. Running with the wind.
Soaring to the heights on an eagle's wing.

If you wanna see your spirit flying free.
Then step outside your mind and cross over the line.
Don't spend your lifetime weeping.
For things that ain't worth keeping.
Life can be very short and you know everybody is bought.

So I'm gonna move out on the highway.
Head on down the road leaving it all behind.
Had enough of lying. There'll be no more crying this time.
Living on the edge. Running with the wind.
Soaring to the heights on an eagle's wing.

It's time to go down to Mexico.
Mescalitos' song will help you to be strong.

So come on move on down the highway.
Head on down the road leaving it all behind.
Had enough of lying. There'll be no more crying this time.

The only reason i'm confident this is right is because the timing is about right, the album this song is from, Fierce Heart, was released in 1983.

Good Luck.
Oh, I thought this was going to be it. Why do I picture Kevin Bacon dancing when I hear this song. It sounds so "Footloose"y. Classic early 80's sound.

I think my song was written in the 70s.
