    I agree with VB.

    1. Usually cheaper to buy a internal HDD & an external enclosure.

    2. The warranties I've seen on externals are 90 days to 1 year.

    3. The warranties on internal HDD are from 1-5 years.

Thx for all your recommendations, i also think i should buy the cheapest of em all, but the cheapes 500 gb outside disk i found in online stores in my country costs around 320 $. External disks here compare to other things are very expensive here.

the best approach for this is to do what vb said, get harddrive enclosures, then "daisy" them up that way you dont need to connect many wires to your computer, also this is good because harddrives are cheaper when internal, and enclosures are really cheap

Nope. For the most part, a hard drive is a hard drive. The only difference being is if you put it inside the computer, or put it in an external enclosure. In the case of VB's example, that is an internal HDD. He is just making the suggestion that limesqeezer put it in an external enclosure.

I think we're saying the same thing, but I was interpreting your post differently when I read it before.

No internal HDD are cheaper than externals.

The warranties on internal HDD are from 1-5 years.

The warranties I've seen on externals are 90 days to 1 year.

That really depends on where you're living i guess, i got a Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 with 2 years of waranty. Hurray for Europe!

Still the 5 years you get on a Segate drive is more than that though :-)
