    Question Mark

So like, a bit of a noob when it comes to torrents... but meh. a few questions...

So im using BitSpirit to DL Stuff, and the downloads have stopped at 99%, Whats teh deal with that? Theres still a bunch of Seeds, and Peers, but it just wont DL anymore, but it will keep uploading.
Its not the first torrent ive had this happen on either, and its quite annoying :S

So, is this something related to trackers and all this crap i got no idea about? OR is it something buggy to do with BitSpirit? or.... if anyone can give me another or.... Go for it....

Secondly... any file i DL using BitSpirit, while the file is incomplete its got a .bt! extension, is this BitSpirit specific? Or do a number of programs use this? Cuz i was thinkin if this is a BitSpirit weird problem, of swappin to a new BT Client... and hoping i could take my files to somethin else, and if the other programs DONT use .bt! does any one kno of a way takin the files to another program... Converting them or somthin?

Well, if anyone knows whats goin on, and can let us know, Thanx alot, Otherwise.... Yeah... Ill just sit here confused and annoyed ~.~

i am a noob too. so maybe i am wrong
1.it is nothing wrong about BS. maybe you can stop your torrent, then restart it , sometimes it will get to 100%. But if there is something wrong with the seeder(who makes that torrent), then i think you can do nothing.
    2. .bt! is ok. you can change it as you like.
for example , ****.avi.bt!, you can change it to ****.avi, if you wanna
watch it when it is not complete. but this action maybe destory file.

    as i say , i am a n00b too.

Hrmmmz, stopping and starting didnt fix it : /

and im a bit reluctant to cut the download short and removing the extension and tryn to use them as they are, as theyre like, .bin, or .iso, so... Yeah i think that would just corrupt them.

but yeah i was more gettin at the changin the .bt! So i could use it with a different downloading program.... thats if the problem was BS Related... which its not... dang.

But Yeah, if anyone else has any other ideas, let us know, otherwise, Thanx beserk1980, i might just have to give it a few days and hope it resolves itself.

I'm not sure but i can tell you that bitspirit is one of the worst clients out there and it doesnt even report your ratio half the time.I suggest you dump it and go with utorrent(my favorite)or azereus My #2 im sure all will agree that those are the best two clients when it comes to torrents. If there is a way to force a recheck of the torrent in bitspirit try that.

And no the .bt isnt bitspirit specific im pretty sure if you switched to utorrent it would turn into a utorrent file or azereus then an azereus file and so on.

    FROM DEMONOID FAQ

    # Why is my download stuck at 99.9%?
There are actually a few factors which may contribute to this problem. Though 99.9% is the most common, it actually happens with percentages in the high 90s (96%, 97%, 98% and anything in between).

    * There may be an anti-leech protection in effect limiting transfers to you. Many clients does have this feature to ensure peers give back what they have taken to the swarm.
    * The final piece(s) may be something changeable. Check to see what is left on the download. If the file(s) in question are ". DS_Store," " Thumbs.db," or "desktop.ini," you may select these files and choose to omit them from the download. If the seeder's version of these files changed, then they will fail the hash check, preventing anyone from getting the original. Similarly, if on your side, these [hidden] files are "read only" and/or protected, your client will keep downloading and discarding that which cannot be replaced.
    * There may be a physical problem preventing you from completing the download. Try stopping the torrent, run scandisk, and restarting the torrent. This will fix any errors on your harddrive.
    * The more pieces you have, the harder it becomes to find people who have the pieces you need. That's why downloads sometimes slow down or even stop completely. Just be patient and you will get the remaining pieces.
