I reckon you're referring to the nVidia GeForce FX 5800 Ultra ...

It has 128 MB of DDR I RAM clocked at 1GHz (I think), but the rather large cooling system requires a vacant 64 Bit PCI slot .

And in 3D benchmark tests, it performed poor; it lost to the Sapphire Atlantis ATi Radeon 9800 Pro (go for that instead).

But that doesn't mean you should rush out and buy an AMD nVidia are still in this game, remember, they have the Quadro FX 2000, better than the ATi FireGL .
