    My brother is looking for a sturdy and fast laptop, he is going to be using it to check his emails do general typing, and listen to alot of music and watch movies, i found this deal, because i havnt really been paying attention to laptops, once again i need your help...
    my price range is try to keep it good but low price,

    both models r new as the processor isnt very old at all.

    should i go with plain core duo or core duo 2? core duo 2 is obviously newer but anyone have the clock times on em?

    You'll currently pay a lot more for a mobile C2D processor with very little noticeable benefit. Considering his intended use, I can't see the justification in spending more than you've already indicated.

    I'm interested to know the spec on the T2050 processor, Intel don't seem to even acknowledge that they make it, but I notice it is in quite a few notebooks.

    Go for core duo, it will be much cheaper and he will barely notice the performance drop
