In azureus there was a way to seed a torrent to someone without adding a live tracker to the torrent. Sort of like Azureus acted as the tracker.

Is there anyway to create and seed a torrent like that on utorrent?

I don't think utorrent has that ability, I think azureus is the only client to incorporate that feature, as standard.

Basically what it means is that you may host a torrent on your own IP address that acts like a tracker. While there is no stat tracking or anything of the sort, the torrent does not need to be public at any means. What this means is that I may upload a single torrent to 1 person, and seed that one torrent to that person alone, without the use of a third party torrent tracker.

Go to your Preferences>>Advanced tab and enable the "bt.enable_tracker" in utorrent, then create a torrent using the tracker address "http://your.ip:port/announce", and then simply send the torrent file to the person you would like to send that file too, and they can immediately start leeching from you.

Hope that helped make sense of it...

DHT it is called : DHT (Distributed Hash Table, technical explanation) is an addition to certain BitTorrent clients that allows them to work without a tracker. What this means is that your client will be able to find peers even when the tracker is down, or doesn't even exist anymore. It allows the swarm to continue as normal without a tracker. You can also host torrents without a tracker.

but be warned if you seed to private trackers while DHT enabled you may recieve a ban from private trackers

    they dont mean dht
they meant hosting the torrent themselves
u can run a torrent in utorrent, and let peers connect by using http://your.ip:port/announce as the tracker url
this can be done without having any tracker software installed at all.
    good for sending files privately.
