Thread: Budget PSU?

    I'm looking to replace my pos psu. I have a budget of $60, and was wondering what the best psu avalable under $60 is. the system it would be powering is a P4 3ghz northwood, 2gig ram, x800 graphics and 3-4 7200rpm harddrives. I'm not looking to upgrade this computer further.
    looks aren't important as the case it's going into is black with no windows or lights.
    any ideas?

    Consider what you want out of a new PSU.

    Quiet - single 120mm fan
    Power - around 500W
    Meets Intel specs - dual 12v rail

    I could only find one PSU which matches those requirements and falls in your price range, from a manufacturer that I would trust.

    I don't have much expereience with Hyper, so I wouldn't normally look at it. thanks for the heads up

    has anyone had much experience with sunbeam tec? their power supplys seem to get good reviews, but I haven't heard much about them.

    Nice link Clocker I'm on the hunt for a new psu for the kids pc..At least thats what I tell the wife .....@Tempestv don't skimp on the psu. A good quality one will last you thru a few upgrades and won't be the cause of any problems...If you buy a cheapy you will have buyers remorse and wish you had spent the extra...

    As far as im concerned you want to go for any psu made by these manufacturers.

    Enermax.
    Antec.
    Thermaltake
    Tagen

    Any of these will be great , most others are generic ones , which usually fail , or cause random restarts.
